On this day:

Pharmacist Prosecuted/Persecuted

A K-Mart pharmacist in Wisconsin is in court for his refusal to fill a prescription for birth control pills. The Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing "accuses Noesen (the pharmacist) of unprofessional conduct for not transferring (the customer's) prescription" to Wal-Mart, as the customer requested. Noesen is a devout Catholic and refused to assist in filling the prescription due to his moral beliefs.

Whether the pharmacist's decision was right is debatable, but this should be a matter for K-Mart to resolve. Why on Earth does this whiny little girl want to go to court over this? And, why does the State of Wisconsin think that it is any of its business to intervene?
