Flying the Flag

Alabama's state flag is being flown on more and more state buildings, thanks to a law passed in 2001 requiring its display. The law came into full effect in 2004.

The St. Andrew's cross that forms Alabama's flag also appears on the Scottish national flag, the British Union Flag, the state flag of Florida, and the Confederate battle flag.
