Alabama Universitites to Raise Tuition...Again

Students at Alabama's two largest universities will likely be paying more in tuition next year.

Auburn University's Board of Trustees has delayed a decision on the level of increase, but the consensus seems to be that the 4% increase proposed by administrators is too much. In-state tuition at AU has gone up by 51% since the 2000-2001 school year.

Likewise, University of Alabama President Robert Witt says that the administration will likely propose an increase to the Board of Trustees this summer. UA tuition for in-state students increased by 16% in 2003-04 and 12% in 2004-05.
