France: We Would Support Chinese War Against Taiwan

"The [mainland Chinese] anti-secession law is completely compatible with the position of France." So says French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin.

Thus has France taken sides in a potential conflict between Taiwan and China - a conflict in which the United States is pledged to come to the aid of Taiwan. France's latest act of perfidy provides more evidence that the emerging alliance between France and China isn't limited to trade - it is now extends to diplomacy and even defense. It was only last year that France and China conducted joint naval exercises - timed just prior to Taiwan's elections in order to provide maximum intimidation of Taiwan's voters.

France has chosen its course - it sees itself as an enemy of the United States. It is time to revise our defense and foreign policy to reflect that fact.
