A friend of mine had a brilliant idea that one of the networks needs to latch onto for the 2008 presidential election.

News anchor
Election "decision board" to call the states for the respective candidates
Tricolor map of the 50 states (Red = Republican, Blue = Democrat, White = Uncalled)
Vanna White
