Federal races:

Alabama's 9 electoral votes will be cast for George W. Bush.

Republican Richard Shelby held on to his U.S. Senate seat.

Alabama will be represented in Congress by Republicans Jo Bonner, Terry Everett, Mike Rogers, Robert Aderholt, and Democrats Bud Cramer and Artur Davis.

Statewide races:

Republicans Tom Parker, Patti Smith, and Tom Bolin swept the three places on the Supreme Court up for election. Republican Tommy Bryan beat Sandra Yates for a seat on the Court of Civil Appeals.

Democrats Ella Bell and Sandra Ray and incumbent Republican Stephanie Bell won their races for State Board of Education.

Amendments:

Amendments 1, 3, and 4 passed. Amendments 5, 6, 7, and 8 failed. Amendment 2 is too close to call, but it looks like there's a good chance it will be defeated.
