Splenda Clarification

I got a little confused while reading the fine print on a Splenda package today.

From the Splenda web site: McNeil Nutritionals owns the SPLENDA® Brand and has commercial responsibility for the worldwide SPLENDA® Brand retail and food service business. Tate & Lyle is the sole manufacturer and is responsible for worldwide food and beverage ingredient sales of SPLENDA® Brand sucralose.

Tate & Lyle manufactures Splenda in McIntosh, Alabama.

(By the way...how do you make that little ® sign? I can cut and paste it, but I have no idea how to get the keyboard to spit it out.)
