Actually, I don't think it's a bad thing for these folks to be here. Many of them are from the emerging democracies of Eastern Europe and will be able to use this opportunity to learn about America's system of federalism and republican government. Most Europeans are even more perplexed than the average Palm Beach County resident about the elements of American constitutional democracy. Who knows, they might even find some things that could help out back home. Even with its faults, America's system is still the best ever devised at keeping government power in check and protecting the liberties of its citizens.
