Alabama may legalize gator hunting

...and it has nothing to do with the Tide's September 30 matchup in Gainesville.

From the Birmingham News today:
Alabama could see a hunting season for alligators as early as this fall as a way to help embattled south Alabama landowners who say the menacing creatures are laying claim to their back yards and eating their pets.
Sounds like a good idea, especially when you consider another fact buried deep in that News report: "No one knows for sure how many alligators now reside in Alabama, but estimates are as high as 70,000."
